THE INJECTION SITES

Your 1's, 11's, or 111's are those moderate to severe vertical frown lines between your brows.  Years of squinting, concentrating, or frowning can cause your skin to furrow and crease. As your skin becomes less elastic, those moderate to severe frown lines remain—even when your muscles are not contracting.

THE PROCESS
The treatment process for BOTOX® Cosmetic is simple.
Here's what you might expect at the doctor's office from the moment you arrive until your procedure is done. (Please note that although this experience is typical, the routine at your doctor's office may be different.)
Before the Treatment
  • Consult your doctor to determine whether you are a candidate for treatment with BOTOX® Cosmetic
  • Your doctor will ask you about your goals to determine where to administer BOTOX® Cosmetic. To do this, your doctor may examine your ability to move certain muscles in your brow area. The location, size, and use of the muscles that create furrow between your brows can vary among individuals
  • Ask the doctor any questions you may have about your expectations for treatment
  • Discuss treatment goals and finalize a customized treatment plan tailored to your needs
The Treatment
  • No anesthesia is required
  • Your doctor may choose to numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream
  • Discomfort is usually minimal and brief
  • Your doctor will administer a few tiny injections of BOTOX® Cosmetic directly into the muscles that cause those moderate-to-severe frown lines between the brows
  • Approximately 10 minutes for the entire treatment.
Post Treatment
  • No downtime is needed – you're ready to get on with your day!
  • Your physician will give you specific aftercare instructions.
  • Side effects associated with the injection include localized pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, redness, and/or bleeding/bruising.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of the “11s,” the moderate-to-severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines). It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that causes moderate to severe lines to form between the brows. ​
Within days, you may see a marked improvement in the moderate-to-severe frown lines between your brows. Lines continue to improve for up to 30 days, and results can last for up to 4 months. Individual results may vary. ​

 Is treatment with  BOTOX® Cosmetic painful?    
Will I still be able to make facial expressions?
Who should not take BOTOX® Cosmetic?
Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. Prior to injection, your physician may choose to numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream. The entire procedure takes approximately 10 minutes. Most patients are in and out of the physician’s office without downtime following BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment.
Side effects associated with the injection include localized pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, swelling, redness, and/or bleeding/bruising.
Although the results are visible, a treatment with BOTOX® Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA) will not radically change your facial appearance or make you look as if you’ve “had work done.” The muscle activity that causes frown lines between the brows is temporarily reduced, so you can still frown or look surprised without the wrinkles and creases between your brows.
